Unable to load picture
 

I get occasionally an error message "unable to load path.bmp" (path is the correct address of the picture.bmp) when SE IV Deluxe 1.95 tries to load a picture. Most often it is a picture from the race folder but it also happened once with another picture. The error is not fatal and I can continue the game. The same picture will load without problem later therefore it seems to be a random error.

Anyone seen this too? Any idea what cause this?

r u using a mod

if so the mod is missing the new load screen introduced in 195. copy stock load screen to approprate mod folder correct location as in stock

Happens to me sometimes when using the Sethulkra set. Usually it's the fleet picture, but other ones can get hit. I always assumed there's something bordeline-dodgy about the bmp files.

Atrocities, yes I am using a mod but what load screen do you mean?
The intro sceen is displayed correctly.

This could be related to the non-standard file headers on BMPs created by some programs (Paint in 2k/XP, for one), which can throw off whatever library SE4 uses. Try resaving the affected BMPs in another application.
