Map Numbers
When I look at the battlefield map (as I always do) prior to a battle I notice that the "battle location" has a (map?) number, that seemingly coincides with the map I am looking at. Yet, if I go into the "load a custom map" list the "battle location" number does not (seem) to have any relationship to the map number for the listed battlefields.
Am I misunderstanding what the 'battle location number' is/relates to? |
Re: Map Numbers
Battle location number refer to a specific (but broad like 'Normandy', 'Kursk', 'Western desert' or even whole countries) geographical area on which the RANDOM generated map for the set-up is based. That random map will have terrain in line with what could be expected in that general area with regards to hills, woods, roads, urbanisation, etc.
Custom map are FIXED maps. Have nothing to do with battle location numbers. Narwan |
Re: Map Numbers
If you want to re-create a specific battle location click on the "View Map" button while you are still purchasing your troops then press the top right hand button ( the message at the top of the screen will read " Change map ID" ) and enter whatever map number you want. Then, once you have done that pressing the middle top button will generate variations of that map
