Problem with retrofitting.
The retrofit routine does not seem to take Mounts into account, and keeps telling me that my designs are identical.
The designs are exactly the same, except for the fact that one uses Premium parts, giving it 40% more hitpoints at 2x the cost. |
Re: Problem with retrofitting.
I am not sure I understand your question or comment -
When I retrofit ships - there seems to be no problems, My weapons upgrade and keep their mount size, the only time I see that message is when I dont change the ship name - usually adding a -1 or -2 after the name. |
Re: Problem with retrofitting.
The difference between my designs is the fact that my internal components have extra-durability mounts. There are the exact same components & number of each, but different mounts.
The game dosen't seem to regognize the difference between a normal Shield Regenerator and a Durable-mount Shield Regenerator. |
Re: Problem with retrofitting.
That is because i think that it looks at a number for the item not it's mount. Say you have a level 1 rocket (rocket I normal mount) and you want to cange the mount but still use rocket I. It will not work. If this is what you are trying to do, I have tested this and it says the ship design is the same.

Re: Problem with retrofitting.
Could you make an intermediate design that incorporates the mount changes you want, but leaves out 1 small component like one armor component or something else small then retrofit again to your desired
