Tuxgames

Hello folks!

I'm a long time forum lurker. =)
Been playin dom 2 and now I want to get my hands on dom 3. Since I'm living in Sweden I was thinking of maybe ordering from Tuxgames. But they seem a bit dodgy to me so I figured I ask if anyone else has ordered from them and if so how long did it take to arrive?
Also, Illwinter, you guys are the mad [censored]! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: Tuxgames

Annette just said a few days ago, that Tuxgames don't have Doms 3. copies atm, since they haven't ordered them yet from Shrapnel.
Tuxgames is a bit weird, I wrote an email to them like 3 days ago, asking that they have Doms 3 copies already or not [since some of my mates here wanted to order the game after they've seen the demo], but no reply since then!
So now these lads have ordered the game today directly from Shrapnel.

Re: Tuxgames

TuxGames have to order their copies of Dominions from Shrapnel, same as everyone else, and as of a couple of days ago they'd apparently still not placed any orders. At the moment, at least, you're probably better off buying directly from Shrapnel.

Re: Tuxgames

I also have ordered on their site, and send an e-mail without response since several days.

However I notice that their site has been updated this morning and now Dom3 is supposed to be "in stock" (previously it was still listed as "coming soon")

With luck this means that they probably ordered the game just after Annette said they didn't have (yet), and if so they should probably start shipping soon.

Hope is a wonderful thing , ... ^_^

I will post an update should I get any more information fro them (or if (when ?) I finally get the game from them)

I think they dont have a desire to gamble on pre-ordering copies. They list it and wait to see how much interest there is. They cant really afford to get stuck with junk inventory.

Thanks for the quick replies.
What you say seem reasonable Gandalf and Jack please do let me know if they contact or if/when you get the game. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

This is making no sense. I can't understand this situation. How is that possible that the people who are running site -which was made to sell games online- just won't reply to e-mails. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif

Tuxgames always struck me as more of a labour of love than a business; more of a service to the community than an attempt at make money. Nobody in their right mind would expect to make money out of selling games for Linux, after all.

Agreed. Its more like a dedicated fan site than a corporation.
And, its a very needed site.

Re: Tuxgames

Tuxgames has carried every game in the Dominions series; they are great fans of Illwinter. We've worked with them for three years now, and I've never had a single complaint from a customer. A shipment is enroute to them, and I think you'll find them to be a very reliable store.
