Somewhere I too had read a post that gave me the impression that these effects would show up in the info screen. I was disappointed not to see it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

You can see morale drop when unit is influenced by fear. However, fear is not battle wide. Only units close to the one that causes fear are affected by it. It doesn't have to happen instantly either. Of course, there are spells that cause fear as well and there is global (Dark Skies) that causes fear too. If you check and army morale that is within enemy dominion and Dark Skies influence, you will see that their morale drops drastically (sometimes it even goes into negative numbers).

Doesn't fear +8 have a 8 square radius? I will have to watch closer for it. It is also possible that I just happened to be looking at units that had resisted the effect.

Shouldn't fear+8 have at least a 9-square radius? otherwise, fear+0 would be useless.

Answered my own question by reading the manual. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif
Base area of effect = 6 square radius, +8 would be 14 square radius.

Which is exactly like attack and defense but, unlike attack and defense, morale doesn't list all the things influencing it.

I'd like it if reduced morale would be coloured in a purplish tone in the stat screen and improved morale would be coloured in a yellowish colour...

Morale effects of standards and fear.

Since one of Doms3's goals is to have transparent rules, I was wondering if it would be possible in a future patch to include standard bonuses and fear penalties to the unit statistics info when you click the Morale trait. I expected to see this already, but it deosn't seem to be there. Frankly, I'm a bit surprised by this. It would be very useful to see how fear and stadards are affecting the troops.

Okay, I see now. It does show up, but it's not listed specifically as fear or standard effects, so it was a little confusing. Well, if it could show up in the list of effects one day, it would be appreciated.

Also, I think standard effects stack! I've been noticing that my feathered warriors sometimes have their standard "auras" on top of each other, because each one should only provide a +1 morale, but I've seen a few troops with a mysterious +2 or +3 morale, sometimes. I've also noticed one little bit of inefficient behavior regarding standards: they don't automatically effect the square the standard bearer is in! I think this should be changed. I think, for example "Standard (4)" should include four squares plus the square the bearer is currently in. It doesn't make sense to be all cuddly with the standard bearer and not even get the morale bonus!

Fear, while it does show the drop it dosnt say that fear causes it. I learn this the fun way using a d10 prince of death with a horror helm (he has +25 Fear!)
