Race creation and reloading
 
Hi all,

I created a race under 1.00 using 5000 points.

I then tried to load the race under 1.00 + balance mod I I got the error "Cannot load because this race has used too manys points for this game" or something like this.

I check the settings on the new game I was starting and it was set to 5000 points.

So I am guessing this has something to do with the balance mod altering some of the points for certain traits, etc.?

I will let Captain Kwok answer in detail but his mod does change RacialTraits.txtx so taht is likely the problem. I would also assume that Races between the two will not be compatable

Which is totally fine, I just wanted to make sure I was understanding the problem and it wasn't something else.

The racial point costs have been modified so try starting with 5000 racial points so you can load the file and then edit your empire from there.

Note that it will probably be a much better idea to create a new empire for the mod because there is a bug that will reset all tech levels to 0 and stuff like that.

I already re-created the race for the balance mod. So far, so good. The more I play, the more I like. Some quibbles with the interface from time to time.
