Is there a way to discover a forgotten password?

I forgot the password for a pretender I created. Is there a way I can determine what that PW is?

Thanks

Can't you just make another ? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
Send the file to IW and they might unbury it. But maybe they have other things to do...Don't know of any other method.

It's a network multiplayer game. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Problem is that people upload a pretender to a TCP/IP game that doesn't start for some days, _then_ it gets started and they can't remember the password. Too late to create another pretender at that point.

I've asked for a way to _change_ the password, both for this situation and also for when someone is getting a substitute player (lets say someone always uses 'aaa' for password, wants to change to 'bbb' before turning it over). Sadly, either IW overlooked it, or doesn't consider it fun to code.

If the game was started with a master password then there might be some options for you.

For some reason the password for your god is better encrypted than the serial key for the game. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Ive been able to get the password and fix some players games but only by brute force (trial and error) and its usually more trouble than its worth. Now I always put master passwords on any game I start.

I'll keep hacking away at it. I usually use a small pool of PWs for all my pretenders so maybe I misspelled it. Are passwords case sensitive?

Thanks,
Chris

I usually keep a small notepad which has the passwords for my pretenders.
