PBEM Retrofitting

I am playing a PBEM game and am having difficulty unmothballing more than one ship per turn at a location. I've tried it with all ships selected being of the same class, and also mixed classes. Does it matter if the SY is a planetary SY or not? How about if the SY is building something or not?
Also, when retrofitting, it seems to be possible to do more than one ship at a time as long as they're of the same class. Does only this work with multiple ships and not the mothball/unmothball command?

Are you guys sure about the retrofit limit? It seems to me I've done multiple classes per sector per turn in simultaneous PBEM, as long as they are not in a fleet (because then the fleet retrofit order merely changes), and as long as there are enough surplus resources to pay for it (since the refit takes place, and deducts resources, during the execution phase of the turn).

At the moment, you can only unmothball one ship at a time per sector (workaround to this would be to build a base in each sector of your shipyard system (a bit expensive though)

You can retrofit any number of ships of the same class in a sector as long as they aren't in a fleet. You can't retrofit 2 different classes in the sme sector in the same turn though.

You got it all wrong guys. Here's how it works.

The ship/s to be retrofit/scrapped/mothballed/whatever can't be in a fleet. If you select all ships you want to r/s/m/w then only one will actually be r/s/m/w. A workaround for this is to select one ship and give it orders, exit the dialog window, reenter and select the next ship and give it orders, exit, reenter, select, exit and so on until you are finished. A major pain in the *** when retrofitting 50 ships of 5 different designs especially since the ships aint sorted in any rational manner and you can't filter out ships in fleets, with orders or by types or size.

I've done multiple refits to the same design by multi selecting the ships and then choosing the design to refit to.
Haven't managed to mothball more than one ship in a stack (not in fleets)

When retrofitting you can rename each ship after refit to keep track of which ones in the stack have already been changed. The ship display gives ship design so you can check to make sure you did not miss any.
