Idea to replace Spoogy Federation?
 

I've been really busy lately, so I have not been able to update my website as much as I wanted too. However, it has given me some time to think about it's future.

While I enjoy the Spoogy Fedreation - I feel the concept is kind of silly - or at least not very realistic.

I'm thinking of creating a new site based on a human experience in space.

Here is the premise:

Humans discover warp points sometime in the early 2100's. They begin to explore and later colonize new worlds. While they do find other life in the galaxy, they have yet to come across any form of other civilizations.

Forward to the 2350's, the Terrans have since colonized many planets and have firmly established themselves in the galaxy. However, powerful forces on Earth still control the majority of colonies - from both social and economic perspectives. This is where the conflict begins. Organizations begin to form on the colony worlds - one particular organization goes far enough to devastate several of Earth's cities with nuclear weapons and many other important industries etc.

Earth responds by blockading planets suspected of supporting the terrorists - which increases the resentment of Earth by off-world Terrans. The Terran people fall into a bitter civil war where Earth faces off against many of the colonies. After 10-15 years, it comes to an end in the formation of many new planet states.

The SE IV game Version picks up after these events, where hostilities are still strong between maybe 3-4 major planets and several smaller ones.

By the early 2400's, I think the Terran people will encounter there first aliens - which of course will be highly agressive and bent on the destruction of the Terrans - this will unite the Terran people and perhaps results in the creation of?

What do you guys think?

I'm also going for more realism, using actual stars, better looking ships etc...

I like the Spoogy Federation. But yor new idea sound cool also. Maybe you could finish the Spoogy then start on the new one. Instead of having a Spoogy web site maybe post the completed one here.

The idea sounds cool, but how bout make it another race besides terrans. I mean there are so many human races out there, keep the same plot just make it like the zarbonians or something.
