Network Game - playing on host computer

Does anyone know how to play a network game over the internet while the host plays on the host computer?

In the manual it is mentioned, but how do I minimize and then maximize WITHOUT those stupid graphic bugs? (Seems to be like in Dom2)

Thanks in advance

Perhaps Alt+Enter? That, or play with Dominions windowed, but resized to fit your screen. I play that way.

Thanks.

Looks like running the game in windowed mode is the only way to play on the host computer.

As a side question, can you set up a server computer (say, my spare laptop) as a host and then log-in to play from your regular computer without needing two CD-keys? Common sense says you should be able to, but I'm uncertain. I've forgotten much of my Dom2 wisdom. ;-)

I'd say yes. I have little experience on the IRC, but one of the players is usually the host, and I doubt all the regulars have multiple cd-keys.

Yes. I do this all the time.

Run host in text mode so you won't have to alt tab between windows. It also takes much less resources from your pc.

I also use the same key on host and player. The host does make you give it a key, but it doesnt compare the key with players for spotting abused keys.

Also, you can install from the same ID to a server, and a desktop, and a laptop, and even work. It lets you play your turns from anyplace without needing multiple copies
