Help -- I am under attack ????
 

It is early fall in the 4th year of the ascension wars....

My undefended rear areas (or weekly defended if you can call a single, level-1 bible thumper a defense) are being attacked. In one case, 60 Barbarians.....in another, 90 souless magic beings.

Questions:

1. What is the source of these attacks? I am guessing my opponents are casting ritual spells, but could it just be random evens and bad luck?

2. What is the best way to deal with this (it is particularly annoying since I am losing Temples in the process). From then numbers I have seen, 20 provincial defense would not likely have succeeded in repelling this attacks? Do I need to garrison troops in every occupied territory to prevent this?

1. Most likely random event
2. Garrisoning the really important provinces I suppose.

Did you take misofrtune scale ? Some random attack events are supposed to get worse with misfortune from what I understand (as well as having an increased chance to happen)

Usually PD 10+ is enought for light events and range attack, and 20+ should be enought for most nations (all PD are not created equals) unless for some of the most extreme events (I never survived to bogus and his fellows adventurers with only PD, but it's true that with lifedrain nerfed, it might be easier to kill Bogus now)

Arent there sites that also increase the unluck in an area. You might try searching with blood, death, hmmmm maybe astral.
