First post, don\'t lough

I got question, high calibre snipers rifle are commonly named anty material rifles ect .50 cal Barret and so on, thy are designed not only to engage infantry at long ranges but also to destroy some hard targets, like targeting sights on IFV and ect so.. i supose it should be possible to snipers units, with this kind of weapons to disable targeting sights, obs. devices on IFV's and MBT's in WinSPBT... but it's impossible as for as i know.. or am i wrong ? And next one... if infantry unit is within 50m to MBT or IFV with Reactive armour, and that vehicle is fired upon by AT weapon, and get's hit by it... and reactive armour is trying to stop penetration, so it explodes... so ther should be lot's of fragments in the air, hurting infantry and building suppresion and eventualy casualities, ok i know reactive cell isn't as much deadly as frag granade, but there shpould be chance of casuality from it, and other thing is ARENA system, it's much worst to infantry then ractive cell.. and notthing happens. Thx. for reply, and sorry for my english, in not form GB or USA...

I'm pretty sure its impossible to have a weapon take out a piece of equipment on a tank. Remember, Steel Panthers is sort of a dice-based game at heart, because thinks like its targeting systems, sights, etc, are simply factorable values that change its ability to engage. Its not represented in-game by a an actual additional icon, or additional hit area.

This is the same with ERA and other active defense systems. ARENA and similar are determined by an armored vehicles EW (electronic warfare) value, while ERA is simply added into the appropriate armor slot. What these really do are change the vehicles behavior and how possible damage is calculated. ERA isn't a weapon in game, so it never really "fires," endangering nearby infantry. When a vehicle hit by ERA gets hit by a HEAT round the game checks the relevant factors of the weapon that hit against the armor values on the vehicle.

Sniper rifles (or other weapon systems) knocking individual bits off tanks is not within the design scope of a batallion-level game.

ERA block activation has never had any effect on troops in the same hex - but ERA equipped vehicles with carry capacity (not internal) are usually given 0 carry if so equipped.

Cheers
