Can\'t really play the game w/ fleet bug...
 
When is the fleet/ordinance interaction of stealing/losing your supplies gonna be fixed? I cant really play the game w/o fleets.

Is there a known work around? I'm not aware of too many other bugs that are game killers, but this one is preventing me from playing.

You can move muliple ships at once by selecting them all in the sector view. Only works well if they're all the same speed, though.

I have not noticed it while using the world famous balance mod.

you can, as Phoenix said, just move the ships together. Select them all, tell them to move. I've been doing this for weeks.

Or, you could design ships that don't use ordinance. There are many of them.

1. Fixed - Possibly fixed error international users were having when trying to load data files.
2. Fixed - Recovering a unit in the Launch/Recover window would sometimes cause an Access Violation.
3. Changed - Drones can now be recovered on ships. Drone Launcher component will allow you to recover drones.
4. Fixed - Recovering a unit in the Launch/Recover window would sometimes leave a blank line.
5. Fixed - A Fleet would sometimes lose ordnance for no apparent reason.
6. Fixed - Some player created empires under computer control were not speaking.
7. Fixed - The Fleet Report - Task Forces tab would misposition the text if scrolled.
8. Fixed - The Select Package window would sometimes not let you hit OK.
9. Fixed - The Planet Report - Races tab would sometimes show population amounts wrong for more than one race.
10. Fixed - When colonizing, if you have population in cargo, then the crew of your ship will not become
1M population on the planet.
11. Fixed - Shard Cannon was not increasing damage with level.
12. Fixed - Sometimes ground combat would occur on a ship.
13. Fixed - Buffer Error at the end of combat.
14. Fixed - The combat progress bar would reset after 60 seconds.
15. Fixed - Organic and Crystalline Dreadnoughts cost too much per level.
16. Fixed - Large combats would sometimes cause the game to lockup.

This is what I was doing, but it "seemed" (note: subjective) that when I did this, the units moved slower and there was a little more lag than usual. Maybe excessive pathfinding. :?

Patch 1.09 is out? And it fixed fleet ordinance loss issues?

Not out yet, Aaron likes to release patches in bunches. The first patch included versions 1.01-1.08, for example. At least we know it's on the way.

I've also noticed that my fleets won't reordinance themselves even when they spend a few turns at a planet with several resupply depots on it. You have to take them out of the fleet, wait a turn, and then they will have ordinance.

You don't need to be at a planet to resupply your ships/fleets. Resupply is now a 'System Modifier'. With the Balance mod each resupply depot gives out up to 1,000 supplies total throughout the system each turn, distributed as set in the 'Resupply priorities' setting in the Empire Options.
