Strange behavior - bug or malware?
 

I am using Opera 9.01 on a dialup connection. The system is set up to autodial when I launch the browser, and when the antivirus progam does its daily check for updates.

Recently, when I close the browser and close the connection, after a few seconds lag, the computer sometimes autodials and reconnects. If I hit Cancel on the dialing progress box, the box closes, but it continues to dial and connect anyway. After it connects again, I can close it normally.

My antivirus program and two anti-spyware scanners claim the system is clean. My current hypothesis is that this is some lagging process in Opera's shutdown sequence. Has anyboody else ever seen similar behavior?
