Any EU retailer ?

Hello,

I got a friend interested in Dom3 and he asked me if there is any european retailer which offers Dom3 (toll in addition to VAT and the price itself are a bit much for his taste).

I told him, that I doubt it, but will ask anyway http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Thank you, with 55 Euros I think they are pretty close to $55 incl. VAT/toll... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

You only need to pay VAT if it (or equivilent) hasn't already been paid at the point of purchase. I don't know if tax is included in the price from Shrapnel (in which case it would be exempt from VAT).
I didn't pay anything extra to get it to the UK, just the cost & shipping from Shrapnel. Depending on locality it's something of a grey area anyway - most EU countries don't classify PC software as a good (because your actually buying a licence) and as such it's technically exempt from most charges and taxes.

Yeah well I vaguely remember some discussion about tolls and taxes from the dom2 forums when it was shipping, and IIRC there was some technicality that exempted the game from being taxed to death. But anyway the point stays, unless you want to support locals or don't have a credit card, Shrapnel's store is about as cheap as it gets...

Tuxgames (http://www.tuxgames.com/details.cgi?&gameref=138) sell it in the UK priced at $55 (without shipping if I remember correctly) , BUT they took a long time to ship the game. Some still haven't recieved it, and their website shows it as "temporarily sold out".

I hate to recommend them after all the time they made me wait and their poor customer service, but if your friend isn't in a hurry it could be an option...

Um, if your friend has a credit card I'd recommend the shrapnel's store. They probably have the best supply, my experience with their customer service after messing up an order was only positive if a bit confusing, the postage time can be as short as 2-3 days, and really, I don't think I've paid any toll or VAT (I do live in EU). So the cost was 55$ + 10$ (postage) = about 50€...

Do people pay extra due to VAT or have I just been dumb lucky? And should I expect visits from the friendly neighborhood tax police after this post?
