A request for Deathstalker
 

Hello Deathstalker.
I have installed and commensed using your "Squids in space" Ship set, and I find it quite attractive. Except for one small niggling detail. It's probably just me; But I find the Racial portrait annoying.
Could you please make a race portrait that looks more squid/octopuss like and less like a humanoid with tentacles coming out of its head?
If I knew how to do this sort of stuff, I'd alter it myself, and not bother you with this request. As I quite like the rest of it, and think you have done an excellent job. ( I was thinking of using this shipset for my next PC race)

Sorry, as to that fact that it is not my artwork (could'nt draw a stick man if I tried http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon9.gif), I have no control over it.(I kinda like the portrait). If you want a new portrait check over at Kuat Drive Yards (link is in the Squids in Space post). Damian has a new race portrait there, looks much more 'octapussy' http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif.


And if this is still not your style than for personal use just do a web search for Cthulu(sp?) or Mind Flayers (or search a D&D/ Baldurs Gate websight, Baldurs Gate Dungeon is quite good, try their portrait section.) and find pictures of these races. They are quite squidlike as well. Just remember to resize the picture in ms-paint to 128/128 and save it in bitmap form. Then rename it to the appropriate race style.

Hope this helps, but as I have said there is the new picture at Kuat Drive Yards.(and the original, which makes them look quite barbaric, tribal, and primitive, and that I think fits them quite well.)

Here are some squid + octopi pictures.The file is a zip file, so change the file extension to .zip

Just realised.... you may need to change the pictures to
'racename_pop_portrait' as a 36x36 bmp,
'racename_pop_mini' as a 20x20 bmp,
'racename_race_portrait' as a 128x128 bmp.
Paintshop pro (any demo Version) will allow you to resize images and save them as different formats.
Put the altered picture files into the se4\pictures\races\'racename' folder and it should display them in game.
