Crashes after combat, any eta on a fix?

I played SEIV to death and am frankly extremely disappointed with SEV. A large part of that is that I've been afflicted with crashes to desktop after combat so frequently that it makes playing the game impossible.

I was hoping the latest patch would fix it, but I still get the problem. Any eta on a fix?

Really, if I were able, I'd try to get my money back on this mess. Let the developer fix it properly and THEN ask for my money.

You've personally mailed your problem in to Aaron? I've actually never had the game crash( except by the Alliance window bug which is now fixed), so I'm not sure how common your problem is.

If it happens just after combat, could it have something to do with lack of disk space for combat replays or some such?

Can you please try the savegame I have attached in my Slow AI turns (1.13) thread? Log in to Player2, he will start a fight, and it always crashes when I watch it in Strategic Mode at any acceleration rate, from x1 to x8. It does not crash when watched in Tactical Mode. Would be nice to know if these crashes are machine-dependant.

Tried your save game neo, logged into player 2, the battle started, 8x strategic. Worked like a charm.

System specs? Enough free space on the play disk? Newly updated drivers and such?

Perhaps there's something in common with the systems that are having crashes. The demo crashed every once in a while for me, but not a single crash since from 1.08 and up, even with alot of alt-tabbing.

I'm running Xp Sp2 on a P4 3ghz ht, 1048ram, 9800xt using Omega drivers.

You mean the combat between Ukra-Tal and Xiati?
No problem on my machine either in strategic combat 8x speed.

Yep, this one. Just tried it one more time at x8. The combat ends, the 'Close' button on the Strategic Combat windows becomes active, I click on it and the game crashes with an "Access violation at address 0068F1E9 in module 'se5.exe'. Read of address 00000008" message.

I'm not sure the system specs would help, this problem may have more to do with stuff like video driver settings, codecs, what dlls were installed/replaced by other programs, etc., but here goes:

Intel Dual Core 2 Duo E6600, 3 GB Corsair RAM, NVidia 7950GX2 with 93.71 drivers, Aug 2006 Direct-X 9.0c, Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard with default BIOS settings, no overclocking whatsoever on anything, SATA2 drives with a few gigs free on each partition.

In the past weeks I haven't had any crashes in Gothic 3, NWN2, Brigade E5, WW2OL. Only SEV crashes and always on the same spots.

This is exactly the same with me, neo.

It seems like it's better when I play at a lower resolution, but it still crashes even then.

Got any system components in common?
