Multiple Global Enchantments?
I'm new to the Dominions series and my brother threw out the manual o.0
Needless to say, I've spent alot of time getting stomped by the computer when trying to figure the game out, but it's still been great. Anyway, regarding global enchantments: What are the restrictions on how many a nation can cast? I've cast a few, and they all appear on the F6 (or F7?) tab, but a message has come up saying something like, "Your global enchantment did not take effect because another has overpowered it". Is this fixed in the patch? I have slow 56K connection which shares the phone line, so I'm waiting for a convenient time to download it. |
Re: Multiple Global Enchantments?
There is a max of 5 global enchantments being active at one time, if you or an enemy casts one while 5 are already active the weakest (iirc) shall be replaced by it, if they are all stronger than it i believe it fails.
Also if the caster of an enchantment dies or the enchantment is dispelled it also ends. |
Re: Multiple Global Enchantments?
If there are five global enchantments already present, then a random one is chosen, and the extra gems you put into the current cast are compared to the extra gems put into the other spell. The spell with a greater number of extra gems, plus a small modifier for the skills of the casting mages, plus a 1d6 roll survives, while the other one is cancelled.

Re: Multiple Global Enchantments?
IOW : You have one global enchantment, your enemies have four. And yet, you may well knock out your own global when casting, instead of trying for one of the other slots. Wonderful ain't it? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif |
