Bringing range of battle sounds \"out\"?

I'd rather hear the sound effects at the default zoom, rather than have to zoom in super-close to hear shots, explosions, etc. Any setting I can change to bring this about? Thanks.

A global replace in the sound effects file for range, setting it to 1000 or so should work.

Sorry, I don't quite understand. Could you tell me which file to edit, which line...? Thanks!

If you open up SoundEffects.txt in the Data folder, you'll see an entry called Sound Max Distance for each sound effect. Just set it to something higher, like 1000 as SJ suggested for each sound file. It's a heck of a lot of work, but you should be able to get through it pretty quickly using Find & Replace or something similar.

It should take about 10 seconds with a global replace. I think they all use the same value.
