slug panthers (I need HELP)
 

Hello.

My WinSPWW2 has been acting strange lately. It has gone very slow. It takes 5-10 seconds to move/rotate/shoot etc. with a unit. It´s very frustrating. After the mouseclick, it just freezes for a time. I re-installed, and it worked fine for one turn. I tried to uninstall but it won´t let me (access denied). So what´s wrong??

What OS are you using? How much ram on your video card. If it's Win98, try rebooting before playing.

Well if it was working before - then what have you changed on your system (e.g. parhaps installed a new sound card or drivers ?).

Try switching all sound off, in both the in-game preferences screen and also the mouse click on the misc tab of the game options programme screen.

Also - some programme may have casued bad clusters on your hard drive?. Try running disc checking (right click on the drive in explorer, tools, error checking. also a defrag of the drive may be worthwhile).

Turned all sounds OFF and now it runs like it did before!

I never changed anything on my system though...

Well - something has likely changed in your sound setup, as it was working before...

It appears a multimedia software "Vodei" I installed a while back was causing the slowness. Case closed.
