Combat strategy definitions question
I'm tinkering a bit with combat strategies, and am wondering if anyone out there can fill in some blanks for me.
What does "Damage amount" under the Target Type Order and Settings mean? The default on the starting strategies seems to be 100%. Does it mean that if this condition is NOT met, that ship will be targeted and fired upon? Second question: in the same Target Type Order and Settings section, how does it define the various types of ships/units? For instance, what makes an enemy ship qualify as, "Attack Ship (short range)", as opposed to "Attack Ship (long range)" or "Ramming Ship"? The game and manual does not seem to offer this information, and as of yet I have not been able to determine experimentally. Thanks for any help. |
Re: Combat strategy definitions question
If the damage amount is say 50%, then your ships will start looking for new targets once their current target is half-dead.
They will still finish it off if there are no other targets in range, and will come back to clean up later if they get distracted by live enemies in a running firefight. |
