Playtester wanted for new campaign...
 

...which should be ready as a beta version in a few days, and for general release maybe even before Christmas, how's that?

Countries involved: Algeria vs. Libya, October 2005; completely fictional story, as well as no realistic google earth-maps involved; minor modifications of OOB for Algeria; (although I might drop this in order to make it playable for everyone, including those who don't wanna install a new OOB as well).

I don't wanna tell much more yet, but I gotta warn you: this is my first campaign project, and therefore, don't expect too much... it won't come close to Mac Gailin's UNIFE campaign or artur's African Abattoir, of course, as I, being a newbie, had a lot of unclear issues to sort out... so, it won't be an award-winning thing, and not too challenging for a pro (I tried to include some surprises though), but I hope you'll like it when it's ready! So far, 6 missions are finished, and as the story should have a nice ending, maybe 2 more should be necessary.

As I am still using the free version of the game (shame on me!), map design is quite hard work, so... does anyone have some large desert maps I could use of modify? (I downloaded what I coul find on the web already...). Maybe a bit late for this one, but I am working on another thing as well, also in a desert setting!

Alright... I hope to find some volunteers, and for everyone else, I'll try to get this ready for release by Christmas!

It might be hard to find anyone this time of year but always worth trying. I am pretty busy with my own SP related projects at present but I would be willing to do some playtesting after the 1st of the year. I would prefer the standard OOB's though.

Let me know when it's finished, I'd like to have a copy hosted at XG in our download area. We can always use more campaigns for WinSPMBT/WinSPWW2.

Ok, thanks a lot. I was forced to do some minor modifocations on the OOB though, as the Algerian OOB sucks - they have APCs but no formations that use them, and so on...anyway, I'll tell you when I'm ready.

Actualy it's not that hard to change oobs with oob swapper. I have moe than one custom green oob.

I would be down for playtesting. Iam also about to release a campaign. Usmc vrs Iraqi Insurgents and militia set in 2007.

Really? WHICH APC's don't have a formation ? Wheeled or tracked or both? Every APC I checked has a formation for them. Give me a unit number and I'll give you the formation number that uses them. If you can find one that doesn't I will be glad to fix it

There are of course formations with wheeled APCs in them, but mostly APCs ONLY, as well as some support + scout units... what I meant was that there is no infantry using them, so far there is just truck infantry and mechanized infantry, but none using wheeled APCs- sorry for not being clear. Also, the engineers have no transport, same for the mrotars... it's clear that Algeria is a seldo-played country, so I did the necessary modificatios for my campaign,,, it would have been possible but a bit inconvenient to build the formations I wanted to do it without modifying the OOB, and I'll post all changes made anyway when the thing is released.

You buy the infantry then buy the Wheeled APC formations and put them together.......how hard is that ?

In any event this has been changed in the OOB's being released with the patch so there will be wheeled APC formations with infantry pre-built for Algeria
