Are old games still playable with patch 1.20?
 

Before I install the latest patch for SE5, I needed to confirm if my old games would still be playable? I currently am playing Kwoks version 1.00 and am also looking at upgrading this to 1.01.

Should be. The patch itself doesn't break savegames and I don't think Kwok made any save-breaking modifications from 1.00->1.01.

Thats good. A friend and I are at the moment playing a game on the same computer and I didnt want to spoil a potentialy interesting game.

You can even play games started with balance mod versions below 1.0 with SE version 1.20, if you just insert the line

Default Empire Option Sort Mounts By Name := FALSE

in the settings.txt file of your balance mod version 0.99.
