Do the various Domes stop unit-damaging Globals?

I am having huge problems with Globals that damage my units--esp. Wrath of the Gods or something like that that kills my units with lightning or something. Do the various Domes stop these spells? I realize that they only protects the province where the Domes were cast, but I have enough gems to cover most of the major provinces for now. Of course, I don't want to waste money if they do not stop these damage Globals.
