(New Map) Mountain Passes
1 Attachment(s)
Just wanted to upload my new map I made using the Age of Wonders map editor and paintshop pro. This map is 26 provinces, 6 of which are water. It is designed to be played with the following Early Age nations: Ctis, Niefelheim, Vanheim and Ulm.
I created this map to give players a fast game option for single player games and fast multiplayer games. It is best to play the map with neighbors on, as there are no province borders. I hope you enjoy this quick little map. Once the Haida Gwaii mod is done, I will try to a variety of maps for players in the future. |

Re: (New Map) Mountain Passes
The map reminds me of... Age of Wonders or is it heroes?

Re: (New Map) Mountain Passes
As mentioned in the first sentence of my original post, it is Age of wonders http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Re: (New Map) Mountain Passes
I played your map and it looks fine, but 2 AI nations seemed to be very weak from the beginning and when I arrived the remaining one had not much to resist my armies.
But only played one quick game yet, so it might not say much. |
Re: (New Map) Mountain Passes
You may try upping the AI. The AI has a hard time dealing with one crucial element of the map, it does not use sailing.
When playing against the AI, here are the nations to play from easiest to hardest. Easiest Vanheim Easy Niefelheim, Ctis Hardest Ulm In multiplayer games the above should not hold true because Human players will take advantage of certain elements of the map that the AI cannot. EDIT: Wanted to add, thanks for trying the map and the great feedback http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: (New Map) Mountain Passes
Will try Ulm then next time and no problem for both.
But now I better get going or my food will get burned... |
Re: (New Map) Mountain Passes
Another game that has a really, truly beautiful map editor is Lords of Magic: Special Edition. One of the nicest fantasy strategy games that ever came down the pike.
Unfortunately, it didn't get the fan-base or Dev attention it deserved, but it had many features that I still remember with great fondness. Would be an excellent source for another nostalgia-mod, Foodstamp, hint-hint http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif |
