TCP/IP mulitplayer resume
Hi there!!
Just a little enquiry, me and a friend have been playing SE:IV for a while as single players and we decided to try and work together. We have both tried to be hosts and of course after several games we have never NOT ONCE managed to restart from a saved game. Does anyone have any ideas as to our problem?? Also we have never been able to start the star trek mod in tcp/ip mode, it keeps coming up with sending the file to each player rubbish. will of course ask this question on that mods site, but going for the kill two birds approach. Any help would be great chaps, thx |
Re: TCP/IP mulitplayer resume
The best way to play multiplayer is via PBW. Automated hosting, you don't have to be online at the same time, and you can send and receive via email or by the web interface.
If you happen to live on the same LAN, then try: http://imagemodserver.mine.nu/other/...4autohost2.zip The tool automatically processes the game for you when all players have played, and can be set to blink your keyboard lights to tell you who has finished their turns (and who should hurry up http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif). If you share a drive and both run se4 from the same location, you don't even have to move the files. |
Re: TCP/IP mulitplayer resume
You probably have slightly different versions of STM installed. You need to have the exact same data files. Also, both of you need to load SE4 with the STM, not just the host.
