Twiceborn bug

In a game with Late Caelum (Raptor), I had a diseased Harab Elder. So I made him cast "Twiceborn", and when he got real sick (mute, limp...), I found an easy way to kill him : Cloud Trapeze in an enemy *underwater* province with friendly dominion ! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
Everything went as planned, he drowned instantly upon arrival without even triggering a combat, the province still in my dom (it was 5+), but ... I didn't get any Wight mage, my mage is utterly lost !!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/mad.gif
The bug is perhaps tied to the "unusual" way he died, for the next one I'd try to have it killed in combat...

BTW a question : what becomes a "Twiceborn" Oracle pretender ? As an "undead fountain" doesn't exist I suppose I get a standard "human" wight ?
Or maybe nothing at all, as with my poor Raptor ? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/fear.gif

Are you sure the twiceborn spell teleports your mage home ? I'm afraid your Wight drown the same way he did as an Harab Elder. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Yes, it should teleport back home.
I can confirm the bug, I walked my twiceborn mage underwater, gave shambler skin to another commander. Mage died but wasn't reborn.

Twiceborn does make the mage "rebirth" on its home province, I saw it already. Anyway if the wight drowned I should have been informed by a *second* message...

Correct drowning will not work for twiceborn... I always keep one independent land province for the purpose of twiceborn .

Do we know if that's intentional or some sort of bug?

No official response from the developers, but it's probably a bug since drowning with twiceborn in friendly dominion did provide the wight mage at your capital within Dominion_2.

Has anyone figured out a good way to get your wight mage without a heap of afflictions? I had a pretty funny experience where my newly born wight mage had lost his head and both arms! It was pretty damned funny, but he didn't make for much of a mage...

Cast regeneration then charge into combat.

For example, If he is not cold resistant (or you can make him non-cold-resistant) he can just put him besides somebody with cold aura (or who can cast breath of winter) and command casting spells. Eventually he'll die from hypothermia and that doesn't cause any afflictions as far as I know. In the next life (twiceborn'd) he will learn from past experiences and will get cold resistance http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
