Questions on Earth, Water Blessings
I'm playing around with an E9, W9 bless w/ EA Tien Chi. I'm a little bit confused in a couple of respects:
1) The E9 +4 protection bonus doesn't seem to show up on the CMs. It does show up on the Warrior of 5 Elems, their protection value goes up by 3 on the main display, but the detail does show a +4 protection on body only. Can someone clarify how this +4 prot works? And is it WAD that CMs get no benefit from the E9 bless protection? 2) On the quickness for W9, I thought it would be like the spell, and that there would be some defensive benefit to having quickness, but at least I see none listed. Is it true that the bless quickness only adds action points, and has no side effect of improving defense? 3) The spell description for quickness says that spell casters are still limited to 1 spell per round, afaict this is also true of the bless effect. However, I was wondering if perhaps there is some benefit in "initiative", i.e. is it the case that having quickness improves the chances that the spell caster will cast earlier in the sequence of mages casting their spells for the given round? Re: Questions on Earth, Water Blessings
1) The E9 bless adds +4 to protection from armor. No armour - no bonus protection.
2) The quickness from bless is not magical quickness. Then again, W8 does give +4 defence, so what is there to complain about? 3) I don't think it does, and even if it does, what does it matter? Since all of your mages cast their spells in the same "phase" of combat, there's really no difference who goes first. |
Re: Questions on Earth, Water Blessings
1) E9 bless increases the armor value of armors on the unit by 4. In other words, unarmored units like CMs don't get any armor benefit and the Warrior of the 5 Elements gets a bonus to body armor only because he has no helmet.
2) W9 quickness effect allows the unit to act twice every other turn. W9 bless also increases defense by 4. 3) No idea. In Dom2 spellcasters also got 2 spells per turn, but that was a tad too powerful, so it got nerfed. They might get some initiative bonus, but I doubt it. Casters on any given side act in order of their individual id numbers, i.e. in the same order as they appear in your commander list. Edi |

3) Order is deterministic?
I'll have to remember that... |
Re: Questions on Earth, Water Blessings
It always has been. I've never, ever observed a random casting order, neither in Dom2 or Dom3.
