OT-Gaming
Ok, so I have a gaming problem....I'm addicted to it....badly...I used to buy like 2-3 games a month and lately I'm down to 1 every few months. But still. I have so many games that I haven't even finished 15% of them. Why is there so many games and so little time?!?! WHY??!??!?

Re: OT-Gaming
I've been asking myself that for years. Come to think of it my wife has been asking me that for years. That and "Are you coming to bed"?

Re: OT-Gaming
Same problem here. I think the root cause of the problem is because we haven't won the lottery. There will be plenty of time to play games once you don't have to worry about working for a living. Job is taking up so much time! But I need a job to pay the rent on my apartment and buy food and stuff to live.

Re: OT-Gaming
I am just the oposite, I am so bored with PC gaming that I have to force myself to beta test SE V. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif ( I find the UI of SE V so damned frustrating that is sickens me)
I have lost complete interest in all PC games. Just don't care any more. |
Re: OT-Gaming
Here is something interesting. DVD Empire is getting out of the Game selling market because the industry is too greedy.

Way to help out the addiction problem, AT http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
I have a similar problem, but have put a moratorium on buying new games until I start "wrapping up" a few of the close-ended games. Of course the problem lies in a few open-ended games - SE IV/V and Dominions 3 that never end... |
Re: OT-Gaming
Well, I suppose you could turn every asteroid belt into a planet (Huge), blow up planets and reform them into huge planets, put a sphereworld around every sun, colonize every world, research all tech to the highest levels (If you havn't already), improve value and conditions to max, change the atmosphere/population of every planet so that they all match...And I can't think of anything else.
And then there'd be nothing left to do. Except maybe destroy all black holes and damaging storms/nebula. Then you could make a sun in each ex-black hole system... And then maybe there'd be nothing left to do. Except you could mine every warppoint and... /me whaps self. |
Re: OT-Gaming
Back before GOLD I had a game of 1.49 where I turned every asteroid in the galaxy into a planet, put a ring world around every star that had planets, destroyed very nebula, black hole, and other, (After GOLD UPDATE) and put a star in those system then build sphere worlds. I was a GOD..... the game had over 4000 turns on it by the time I was finally done. I left one star system untouched, a neutral lived there. I did terraform all the plants and make planets out of the asteroids in that system along with building a sphere world that the neutral later colonized. I had something on the order of 3,000 + planets I believe, trillions in populations, and one or two war ships.

Re: OT-Gaming
I had a huge empire like that once and gifted everything but one sphereworld loaded with WP's and orbited by a hundred or so defense bases.
It was a brand new game all over again. It was rather fun and played it for at least 150 or so more turns. |
Re: OT-Gaming
Back in IV I used to use the all tech cheat and create ships with massive stellar manipulation tools on them, (along with a repair yard to fix the components right after) and would go around the galaxy being the event manager. "Oppps, sorry you Romulan pig, didn't know that was your HOME SYSTEM STAR....if I did I would have never changed it to a black hole....maybe..."
