Differences in Galaxy types

I'm nearing the mid-point of one of my PBW and I want to start preparing for the next game. I'm curious what the main differences between the galaxy types are in the Stock version and Balance Mod v1.03

I'm mostly aware of the shape differences, but beyond that I'm clueless.

I think it is more for flavor than anything else.

Keep in mind you can change the coded 100 max systems in settings.txt

Shapes, and the distribution of system types (ancient has more black holes and dead territory, for example)

The average number of warppoint connections varies between types too.

Awesome, thanks. Are there any in particular you recommended for a more "balanced" distribution?

FQM (aka Fyron's Quadrant Mod) should help with that.

In stock, only the Ancient quadrant type has an altered distribution of system types. The rest have exactly the same system type settings, and only vary in shape and WP connections. It's rather boring, imo...

Well, other than the diamond, but that is a specially designed quadrant with 49 forced standard systems in specific locations. However, its randomly generated systems past that use the same exact distribution as mid-life.

Thanks for the info. That's what my suspicions were, but it's good to know for certain.
