Question about transparency and beams

One problem I notice on mods is a lack of transparency in the black areas surrounding a beam if someone mods the beam.tga file. I duplicated the file and then changed a few things and called it beam2.tga and I'm getting the same thing. While the black is transparent for the original beams, it's opaque for me. The alpha mask for both seems to be a solid white. I'm rather stuck on this one. It's one of my final hurdles to releasing an early version of my mod. Anyone have an idea how to make the beams show up as transparent and the black completely transparent?

Re: Question about transparency and beams

You're breaking the alpha mask in some fashion. For additive transparency like the beams, the alpha channel must be all black.
