Idea about using Chalice

After reading responses to my Chalice questions I came up with the strategy that I haven't tried before.

What do you guys think about giving Chalice to a scout and have him traveling with an army while in sneaking?

The Chalice shuold still work, healing army's injured soldiers each turn. The "questing knights" attack seem to be extremely rare, based upon what I was told.

Do I undersand correctly that in "sneaking" mode units can not be affected by any remote spells, making them completely invincible?

I love stealth, its my favourite abilty by far. Having used it alot, with literally 100's of stealth units, I have never had a stealth unit targeted with a spell.

Your only danger/threat with a unit on sneaking/hide is being discovered by patrolling or province PD, AFAIK.

But perhaps players with more experience know better, they usually do...

Do you really have that many soldiers with afflictions? For a normal human, if they take enough damage to get an affliction, they are likely to die anyway.

I would use the Chalice to heal high value units like SCs and mages.

I actually have a scout holding the chalice in one of my games, hiding of course. He is less there for the army though and more there for the tartarians I summon up.

Yes, I do the same. But sometimes it coud be useful.

Imagine you are moving huge armies through completely depopulated Ermor or R'leh provinces. You would need hell lot of supply items. But with chalice you can quickly heal deseased units.

BTW what are the chances of healing "Deseased" affliction? And what about other afflictions - how difficult are they to heal with Chalice? Can you heal more than one affliction per turn on the same soldier? If so, is it more difficult than healing a single one?

(basicly in the last question I am asking if each affliction's chance to heal is calculated individualy independed on other afflictions, or is it depends on the presense of other afflictions on the same unit.)

I know this is "High Level", but I tell people to make a "Gate Stone" and combine it with a "Chalice" and therefore, the healing power of The Chalice, is felt WHEREVER it is needed.

This is a really bad idea. Starving units suffer from -4 morale. For the amount of effort you'd have to put into getting a chalice, I think you'd find it easier to forge up some thistle maces, and mass produce cauldrons of broth.

Uh, a gateway stone is not the most efficient use of a chalice. Just use your labs to port it like you do any other item- put it in the lab, take it out. No need to use an artifact to gateway.

FWIW, stealth units can definitely be targeted by mind hunts, I've used that quite effectively to clear out spies. I'm guessing other spells can target them as well (assuming the caster knows they're there).

Seconded. I had a scout observing a siege get targetted by a Mind Hunt, although at the time I just chalked it up to the wierdness of there being 3 nations in the same province.
