Things I never saw in Dom2
There are some strange things in Dom3, the latest, I was winning a battle when one of my retreating Chariots runs over and kills my god!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/shock.gif
I never saw that in Dom2! |
Re: Things I never saw in Dom2
Well, I never saw AI to Hold & Attack Rear in DomII. I never expected AI nation to massacre my mages! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif

Re: Things I never saw in Dom2
Apparently units in retreat can now do a limited bit of fighting, which I find awesome.

Re: Things I never saw in Dom2
SafeKeeper, they always have been able to do that, they will fight any enemy units that are blocking their direct path to safety. Routing units do not think to go arond such enemies.
Ranger, that's normal behavior. Whenever there are tramplers on the field, anything smaller than them, especially commanders, mages and gods should be kept away from their lines of retreat or that's bound to happen. Edi |
Re: Things I never saw in Dom2
In addition to above, about routing units: units route in a straight line, back. When they get locked in a zone of control of an enemy unit (see battlefield movement, page 74 in the manual) and are unable to continue routing in that direction, they fight the enemy because they try to flee and it's in their way.
If your pretender god got run over by your chariots and died, then you either had alot of routing chariots, or a crappy pretender god, or both... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |
Re: Things I never saw in Dom2
hes saying that some units stay and fight because it changed since dom2. If all units rout at least one group of them stays at least one round fighting and NOT routing unlike dom2.
