Facilities on Space Station and more?
 

Hi folks,

Are you able to build facilities (mineral storage, research facilities, etc) on a base/space station or are you limited to the same basic building blocks used for ships?

Second question: If you put cargo holds on a base/space station, can you transfer weapons platforms into that cargo space, and if you do, will those platforms fire their weapons at approaching enemies?

Space stations and ships are the same thing as far as the game is concerned. So no you won't be able to put facilities onto bases.

However you can mod a component I guess to serve the same purpose.

In a roundabout way, a space station that you construct, then mothball (so you don't pay maintenance), then scrap later, kinda does function as resource storage in space. Not that that trick is all that common. Planetary storage holds more, and is more secure.

Weapon platforms only work when stored in the cargo space of a planet.
