Strength, weapon type and fatigue

I wonder if there is a connection. AFAIK fatigue is only dependent on encumberance, and only armor counts towards encumberance.

It would make some sense, because a weak mage using a forged 2h maul or hammer would tire much faster than a Jotun giant, for example. It reflects the fact that in historical melee combat, lighter weapons had also their use, depending on the physiognomy of their user and fighting style.

Moreover, Attack skill might also reduce fatigue gain per attack, because skilled users are efficient and tire much slower - this is true in sports also, everywhere where physical skill matters.

This is not a rant, the game is complex and fine enough as it is, it's just a random feedback of a beginning player.

Basic encumberance does drop a point at the fifth star of experience, if memory serves, while some lighter weapons get you multiple attacks per round. Strength impacts efficiency somewhat through damage (although even some melee weapons don't benefit from strength -- whips and Rod of Death for examples).

There's no real modeling to make strength impact attack frequency other than making it very hard to damage somebody unless you had strength, and you can't make an item benefit more from strength (ex. base damage -60, strength bonus 5*str -- negative damage if below str 12, but a whopping 40 damage if str 20). Which would be interesting if allowed. *shrug*
