German TOE
I've recently discovered WinSPWW2 after playing the original series years ago. I have to say I'm very impressed! I particalry like the ability to cross attach units, a big improvment on the orignal series and SPWAW. I prefere to play with a German kamfgruppe from a Panzer Division. I've read with interest the various debates regarding the German OOB (OOB 16) My Question is:
1. Can anyone point me in the direction of any good sources regarding German TO&E. Espically for the PzGren Regiments/Battalions. Cheers |
Re: German TOE
Try
http://www.bayonetstrength.150m.com....enadier_ba.htm or http://chrito.users1.50megs.com/kstn/okh/okhmain.htm then keep in mind that when it comes to PzGren formations they could be just about anything Don |
Re: German TOE
Thanks DRG.
I have already looked at both sites from some of the other threads. I'm very aware of the huge varation in German units particualy late war. I'm more interested in ironing out the inconstiansces and pherhaps having a go at modhack than picking the OOB to bits! But having said that I've read a couple of things that I'm trying to find some supporting soruces for: 1. PzGren Mot Battalion: A TO&E for 1940 located in a copy of Heinz Guderian's memiors I've got indicates a battalion had: 3 x Rifle Coy 1 x MG Coy (2 MG plt, 1 mortar plt) 1 x Heavy/Mixed Coy ( Pionerr,anti-tank plt,inf gun plt) 2. I am also wondering as to the amount of SPW's for units in the early war years. I belive very few for Poland (except some with 1st Pz Div). 1 SPW Coy per Pz Gren Regiment in France with the first SPW battalions coming into being in early 1941. 3. I've found some inconstances in service dates for various pieces of kit from a single source but being new to the forum I am trying to get some more evidence before I put my money where my mouth is so to speak!
