One question for Don/Andy...
Well, I have generated battle (meeting engagement, Australia vs. Japan, June 1944) and I use one "pre-made" map (sorry I don't remember name of it) which has river (bit "S" shaped) from north to south. I noticed that if "beach" (or nearest hex from river) area is "height 30" and water is "height -3", I can't get my troops (mostly infantry) crossed that river http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/fear.gif... I tried to move them into river but they didn't changed into rafts (as they usually do). Well, I'm not sure but are those values for beach and river reason for this? Is this bug or done by purpose?

Re: One question for Don/Andy...
It may be that the height difference made it a "cliff" which is impassible. Generated maps make them that way automatically but a hand made map will not but I really need to know the name of the map to check this properly. Otherwise I'm just guessing Don |
Re: One question for Don/Andy...
Hey now I found it after long search;). Map 180, Rural, Java, Indonesia 80X100.

Re: One question for Don/Andy...
Map 180 is "Don Region, Russia"
Map 190 is Rural Java OK, where were you trying to cross and what side of the map where you on ?? Don |
Re: One question for Don/Andy...
First ..... That map is not set up as a "river assault" map therefore the game won't supply rafts for your men. You can check that by loading it into the editor and press the ^ key and it will give you the option of making it a river assault map which sets the flags for the game to provide rafts
Second, you generated meeting engagement, again.... not a river assault so no rafts are provided at the start of the game Don |
