Another case of malicious rumor distributed as "news." The editors have added this:

Don't you love the new age of media. I'll bet you Dan Rather was involved http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

No thanks, we don't really need a GameGate now do we?

Looks like that's gone now, too- I'm getting a 404 Error and a blank space where the article should be on Flash of Steel.

There was a little problem with the permalinks. The new FoS link is:

Re: GamePro Review Score Bribery Scandal
Unfortunately when I saw the source it did not surprise me. Long ago (and an eternity in web time) I worked with them (except for about three people I don't recognize any of the names anymore) and even back then words like "quality control", "fact checking", and "editorial duty" were completely absent. Heck, I remember one article I had to write because the original writer spent the entire piece badmouthing Microsoft. Yep, nothing about the game in the article, just a screed against Microsoft and then it was actually put up and you know what happened? Someone from Microsoft got a little ticked that instead of an actual article dealing with their game it was a slam against the company. Go figure.

Re: GamePro Review Score Bribery Scandal
Hey, if I was Microsoft, I'd much prefer yet another anti-Microsoft rant instead of something dealing with the specific faults of the game in question... I mean seriously, how the heck do these reviewers even stay in business without the game industry suing them out the kiester? It's not really libel because (usually) what they say about the games is actually true, but you'd think someone at a game company somewhere would be able to hire a competent enough attorney to convince a judge otherwise... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif
