Scaling map Icons?
I know that there are keys to shrink / enlarge commander tokens, but is there by chance a way to shrink / enlarge map icons as well? One size fits all does not work with some maps and they quickly become cluttered with temples, candles, armies, flags, forts, etc. To get by for now, I have been switching filters on and off, but this is getting old, and hitting the tab key to temporarily show all icons is nice, but suffers from EXTREME map clutter to the point of madness. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Mostly its affected by the pixel size of the map. It might seem as though you can make a 100 province map and do it as 600x600 or 1000x1000 or 2000x2000 etc etc with no real affect. But its when the pags and structures get laid on top of it that the big difference shows up.
There is also a command in the .map file called #defaultmapzoom which can help alot. At this time if you generate a map then it will put a pretty nice default zoom into the .map file. But if you use the map editer on it, then it will drop that command (apparently it replaces it with a newer command for text color which I dont think was supposed to happen) |

#defaultmapzoom 4.0 as command number four or so in a .map file works for my randomly generated maps, since I made them with way fewer pixels than the premade maps. Note that windows notepad doesn't like unix format text files. No idea if changing the .map file has any effect when a game is started already, or if it breaks the game. |

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I am aware of #defaultmapzoom, but afaik changes to the map file will not be reflected in existing games. In the current situation, I downloaded a random map that had been used in someone else's multiplayer game (eventide) because I liked the layout, but I did not look at the map file close enough to realize that they had lost their #defaultmapzoom command. I assume they must have edited it in the map editor. Anyhow, it was subtle enough that it wasn't until late game that I realized how cluttered things were getting.
