Install on USB drive?
Can we install WinSPWW2 on a USB stick and play it on any box?
Or does WinSPWW2 want to live on a host box? It would be cool if this were possible there are a lot of portable apps out now. I could grab my SPWW2 USB flash drive and grab my work Laptop and off on a plane.... Thxz |
Re: Install on USB drive?
Try it and let us know. I haven't tried and as far as I know no one has reported trying to.

Re: Install on USB drive?
Hi,
it works. However I havenīt it installed on the stick, but simply copied the respective folders (MBT and WW2) to the stick. Works under VISTA if you just doubleclick on the *gameoptions.exe. Stick is a extremeMEmory 2GB, but I donīt think that does matter. Switched between my desktop and notebook. No problems here. cheers Helge |
Re: Install on USB drive?
Thanks DesertFox, going to grab my install disk and let you all now if I can a) just install it to the stick drive or b) do as TheDesertFox has done and copy it.
Will report back on it. Don |
Re: Install on USB drive?
I've just tested both WWII and MBT on a 1GB stick drive plus I ran it on an IMAC with a windows emulation program. The only thing that you had to do was run it in a window slightly smaller than the screen size.

Re: Install on USB drive?
Well back from a business trip.
Although I did not install on the USB I did just a copy and it worked seamlessly! Next month or so I will try to run the installer on it and see. Company Laptops are great for checking email, working on projects, setting your work schedule, and USBing with WinSPWW2!!! <vbg> |
