Atmospheric modification plants are DANGEROUS!

Does anybody realise that the atmospheric modification plant is not good for your health? Let say your race breath oxygen (which human doesn't?) and you put one of these thingy on your shiny new colony with a hydrogen atmosphere. Sooner or later you will have just the right mixture, and that guy beside you decides go out and have a smoke... BOOOM!!! The whole planet goes up in flame! ;-p

Smoking kills, believe me!

Cool, about time we had another exploding atmosphere / methane production / chemistry of flatulence thread. Read

So wouldn't the entire atmosphere turn to water?! You'd flood the whole planet!

------------------
Assume you have a 1kg squirrel
E=mc^2
E=1kg(3x10^8m/s)^2=9x10^16J
which, if I'm not mistaken, is equivilent to roughly a 50 megaton nuclear bomb.
Fear the squirrel.

It could rain for a long time as that stuff falls back.

That would be a cool feature - random errors in atmospheric conVersion programs. Would require hard code changes, but imagine putting in events like "The atmospheric conVersion on the hydrogen gas giant [Planet Name] has caused a catastrophic chain reaction in the atmosphere. All units, population and facilities on the planet have been destroyed. The planet is now a small oxygen ice world."

Hey, that would be a cool weapon, launch a napalm bomb at the planet and KABOOOOOOM!

Gives a whole new meaning to the practice and applications of "gas warfare."
