Banner of the Northern Star

I seem to remember someone telling me somewhere that the Banner of the Northern Star lowers the MR of everyone on the battlefield by 2, which isn't the impression you get from the manual. Does anyone know if that's correct?

Lowers the MR of wielder by 2. Autocasts Light of the Northern Star at the beginning of battle.

Having finally managed to do a test myself, I can confirm that the "-2 MR for everyone" effect was indeed a myth. I was told lies!

The banner in fact does just what it says in the manual.
