bug...buuuug.....BUUUUUG!!!
 
Hello everyone again.
In my recent playing i have found a nice bug in the game.....lol, my first bug ever....which is:

I was practicing my shipdesigning skills and wanted to design a counter to Rage ships (powerful thing btw), and was having problem with countering it, but this is not the place for it.
The point is that Rage ships have the following weapons combination:
Some nasty Null-Space cannons
Some annoying PPBs.

As all of you know, NS passes both shields and armor. PPBs do not pass phased shields.
And now the nice part:
IF the Last NS cannon does hit my ship, and the following PPB does hit aswell, it PASSES THROUGH THE PHASED SHIELD!
I tested it some times, and it in fact works like this!

Lucky i had armor...

Have you tried other weapons (Anti-Proton Beam, DUC, etc.) after the Null-Space Cannon? Given that the PPB hit your armor, it's not necessarily likely that other weapons would pass through phased shields when they're not supposed to, but still...

Well.......ok, in a second try it does not work for me again.
Its one out of two:

OR it is somehow related to SHield Regenerator (first disable 'em, then it regenerates a bit of shield, then the PPB shoots and hits the shield, passes it and hits the ship)
OR..i still sure i saw what i saw

It could have something to do with the fact that damage accumulates on the same component untill destroyed. It has been discussed in other threads (can't remember which ones).

IIRC, the basic is that if a component is not destroyed, each subsequent hit will continue to add damage to that same component. So, if the NullSpace cannon (120 points) hits a 150 point weapon / component (other than shield or armor), then the component is not destroyed (it still has 30 points left untill destruction). Then comes along a standard weapon with lets say 40 points, fires and hits; the damage will be applied to the Last hit component (if not destroyed). At least that's kinda' how I remember it.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm mistaken...
