encyclopedia printouts
<font color="black"> </font>
I wish to post a query concerning the encyclopedia. I would like a way of printing out all the German data so that I might be able to peruse it for the making of OOBs, etc. Now I know about the screen shot method, but using Paint and Windows Picture It the pictures come out a jumble of indecipherable colours. Another method of copying and posting to say Word or NotePad would be great except for the following problem: I am most probably the last being on Terra Firma that still uses a VGA monitor even though I run XP. Thus trying to use the windowed version of winSPWW2 @ 800x600 I wind up with a squashed\roadkill box which of course is unusable for copying anything from. I'm prepared to hand copy all the information, but I was hoping that perhaps there was a quicker or easier method to accomplish said purpose. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I don't want exact replicas of the pages, just the particulars of each unit for comparison purposes. Thanks in advance for any help. |
Re: encyclopedia printouts
There is no way to do what you are asking unfortunately.
however - you may be able to get some of the data from Mobhack, using the "dump CSV" button and exel or a database to read the CSV files, if you know how to handle Comma-Separated importing. The text files for the formations and the units can of course be found in the \game data\text folder as described in mobhack help. Cheers Andy |
Re: encyclopedia printouts
If it's screen shots you want but cannot use windowed mode try this ( from \WinSPWW2\Game Notes )
2] In full screen mode the ALT+PrtScn technique does not work. You need a screen capture utility like Hypersnap http://www.hyperionics.com/ or UOSU http://www.hh.iij4u.or.jp/~kmatuoka/uosu/indexe.html running in the background |
Re: encyclopedia printouts
Thanks Andy & General, both points work well. I especially like the Hypersnap program; I'll probably purchase it after the trial period. Neither solution was the total easy answer but the nothing ever is. Thanks for the help.
