Question about Preaching and Fortresses

Quick question, because I can't test it right this moment:

If I set a commander with troops to "preach" in a location with a fortress if he attacked will he defend the province or defend the fortress? I'm pretty sure he will be inside the castle, but I want to make sure...

If you own the fortress, he will be inside.

Re: Question about Preaching and Fortresses

Any commands apart from 'patrol' and 'move and patrol' result in the forces being inside the castle.

Yes, anything not patroling will be in the castle thus adding to it's defense.
