Lost an Eye?

If one of your mages gets the affliction Lost an Eye, can you pop an eye of aiming in there? Will they put it in the "broken" eye socket, or will they put it in your good eye. And if it goes in your good eye do you become blind?

Can't quite find the thread, but I believe the verdict on this a month or so ago was that it's random which eye socket the Eye of Aiming goes in. Sometimes you'll lose another eye and sometimes you won't.

Edit: Oh, here it is. Attempted link to thread "Can item induced afflictions recuperate/heal?" in Dom2 forum (I guess it wasn't just a month ago).

Didn't know it was random, but makes sense.

Every time I have tried it, I have ended up with a blind mage.

It might be worth a shot, but in the situation I need it in now it's not worth the price.
Nice to know though.

Well, pretty silly indeed.

Are you sure that it is random ? Said so : you've lost an eye, so, now, basically, you're a one-eyed troop, and if you put on a magic eye, well ...

I'm not sure that the game take account of your original number of eyes at the time of the calculation. It did at some point, because you can heal from this afflication, but, still, I have doubt ...

Whatever, be carefull with magic eyes ... I had once played SP with Abysia and all my fire combat mages were equiped with eyes of aiming. One time, my very best mage win a fight, and find a magical item : another eye of aiming ...
Guessed what : he put it at the place of his other (and lasting) eye ... and finished with big accuracy, but blind ... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif
Pretty useless on a battlefield, but still worth in a library : he ended game researching ... I wonder how he could read ? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I had that same issue in an Abysia game. I was playing a Phoenix, and every Anathemant Dragon got an Eye of Aiming to compensate for his lousy accuracy.

The solution is to make sure that you fill both of your misc slots. Give your Anathemants another miscellaneous item of some kind -- anything at all! -- and they won't pick up a second Eye of Aiming.

It's a little-known fact that magical libraries are all ADA-compliant and feature braille grimoires.... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
