Naming specific stars in a system
Good Evening,
Just got back from the west coast (ate some of the best food I have had in a long time), turns out my mapfile with the systems mod (3-9 mini systems in a conventional system map with planets being moons of the stars) that I have been working on has been corrupted. If possible, I would like to load a text file with star names (not SystemNames.txt, that names the system, not the star within the system in my mod) into SE IV so it would name all of the stars. It is 99% likely this will not work http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif, and I will have to use the editor, but its worth a shot... GB |
Re: Naming specific stars in a system
The first thing to check is that your path.txt is set to the same mod that the map was created in.
If you change any of the map related data files, then the map may not load up properly. |
Re: Naming specific stars in a system
If you cannot get the file to load though you are out of luck unfortunatly. There is no way to give the stars unique names when loading from a data file. It picks a name for the system and then names each star according to the system name, A, B, C, etc.

Thanks for the info...Looks like I am SOL. But, I was having second thoughts about the map anyway...
