Devs, you rock!

Noticed this while looking at the updates:

7th july
* Serpent cult frontier soldiers.
* Serpent cult field soldiers.

I just want to say I love how you guys do your homework on everything, and how this appears to well represent the martial forces of the waning Roman Empire (mostly the Western Empire) with the two armies, the elite field army and the defensive army.

Other nations are obviously well researched as well.

Unlike say, "Rome: Total War" which introduced Roman ninjas and flaming pigs.

Thanks guys!

Edit: Guess I should have put this in the "We Love Illwinter" thread. Sorry if anyone's annoyed.

Thanks! I'm quite fond of the Serpent Cult military. I think it's my favourite troop setup this far. I'm almost as fond of it's army as I am of its mage/commander setup. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I'm a bit anachronistically bothered with Pythium in general, but individually fond of the nation's troops. I had byzantium in mind when I first made Pythium, but didn't at that time give them a byzantine army, I feel a bit stuck with the roman setup. So serpent cult is more late empire than byzantium. I feel like I need more eras http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif. Otherwise there is no place for foederati or varangian mercenaries. And that annoys me a bit. Or a new nation with stronger byzantine feel, but that would be a bit meck-ish to fit in the dominions universe at this time.

Just a minor point, and one that I feel helps explain some of the joy of this game. Its not "homework". Kristoffers day job includes assigning homework to others on these very subjects. But I think its always cool when someones off-dev job and loves gets included into a dev project. It totally shows doesnt it?
