CPU at 100%
When I run winspmbt my cpu goes to 100% and stays there unless I minimize the game screen and it returns to around 12% with memory usage around 22% I have a pentium 4 2.4 GHz processor. This happens with all scenarios. Any Ideas how to prevent this.
Thx Scott |
Re: CPU at 100%
The programme is a [/b]game[/b] - so it runs in a continuous game loop. It is not meant to give time to other applications - but it can be run in parallel, esp in windowed mode.

Re: CPU at 100%
Dear,
I have the same Problem in windowed Mode (Windows XP Home SP2). CPU-Load is very high, but my system should be more than sufficient (Core Duo2 E6850). Thx |
Re: CPU at 100%
Same here. It seems that sound playback in particular produces huge CPU loads. Not a problem, but a bit irritating. Most low-end windowed mode games do not produce such high loads.

Re: CPU at 100%
My Sound is disabled, so apparently it is not the sound the causes the high CPU-Load.

Re: CPU at 100%
Are you playing on a laptob or desktop?
Some processors throttle down performance at certain tempretures, especially on laptobs. |
Re: CPU at 100%
Desktop. Meanwhile I found out that the problem exist only in windowed mode. In fullscreen mode the CPU-Load is about 1% (if I switch to Task Manager).

Re: CPU at 100%
On my system, windowed mode SPMBT uses 48% of the CPU since it is always running in its own partition. It isn't designed for sharing resources while running (as succinctly stated by Mobhack Andy). I believe that full-screen mode is an all-or-nothing proposition; when you switch to Task Manager, you're effectively halting the game temporarily.
