y command -- no army positions
The t command for army setup works. I wanted to use the y command to only show the commanders that were going to move. The y command shows these, however the army's position (usualy a little red or white square) are not shown on the green field. How do I use <y>?

Re: y command -- no army positions
The 'y' command only shows all the information for the armies that are moving *into* that province. It also lists the armies that are already in that province, or moving *out* of that province as well...however. For the armies that are not moving into the province, you don't get to change--or even see!--their positions on the battlemap.
Can be annoying, if you're adding one army to another and about to be attacked. (Also, you can't rearrange your armies into different squads using the 'y' command. Also annoying at times.) |
Re: y command -- no army positions
I wanted to use 'y' because it only shows info on the commanders and armies moving into a province. The issue is that the green fields that show the relative army starting position for an upcoming battle is empty: ie. The green 'field' has no white, red or blue squares showing where the squads will be. The green fields are all empty. Switching to the 't' command shows the same commanders and squads (plus more that are not moving) AND shows the setup locations on the green 'field' using small blue, red and white squares.
I am using version 3.08 / Linux 64-bit. |
Re: y command -- no army positions
Like IndyPendant says, 'y' shows positions only if you use it in the destination province.
Occasionally it is annoying if you are moving an army from A to B, where you also already have troops, and you want to coordinate them together, since like Indy says you can't use y to look at them together in B. What I then do is temporarily give both armies orders to move to C, use 'y' on them there, then change their orders back. |
Re: y command -- no army positions
My fault. I was looking in the originating province and should have looked at the destination province.
